I've been playing around with thick gesso applications to experiment with texture. This is something I've been noodling with recently and put a few hours into this afternoon. It's a flower still life set up on a heavily gessoed masonite board. I really like the meatiness of the surface, I'll definitely try this again, perhaps on a smaller panel.
