My name is Todd Bonita, I'm an oil painter from the New Hampshire sea coast. This blog page is to journal my progress at the easel. Please feel free to contact me at tmbonita@gmail.com.
I finished painting the Keys and mailed them off to England. I had fun with the wood on this one..there is really something to things that are aged and weather worn. This is "Key #2" it's 6x4" oil on wood panel.
Thanks Frank, they start out very broad and loose..you can see in my under painting stage that it is merely a wipe away process where I'm using a paper towel to wipe out the lights and build volume and shape. The first application with my brushes is loose, using maybe medium size brushes. It isn't until the painting is almost done that I bust out the Windsor Newton #7 and "pap" in some details.

Very well done. I am so impressed by the amount of detail you can get on such a small painting.
